Fatality in boating accident identified

A man killed in a boating accident on Lake Mead Friday was identified as Stephen Walters of Henderson.

Las Vegas police divers recovered the 41-year-old's body Saturday after Walters' boating companion was found stranded on an island, the National Park Service said.

The companion told park rangers his boat had crashed about 7:30 p.m. Friday. He swam to an island but had not seen Walters after the accident.

Divers found Walters' body under the boat, which had sunk in 20 to 40 feet of water. Walters had drowned.
