Officials ID boy found dead in car

The 4-year-old boy who was found dead in a car in the desert earlier this week was Trenton Quick, according to the Clark County coroner's office Thursday.

He died from "blunt abdominal trauma labeled a homicide" by North Las Vegas police, the coroner's office said.

Amber Scott, Trenton's 24-year-old mother, and her live-in boyfriend, Trevor Carter, 21, were arrested Tuesday evening in connection with Trenton's death. Carter was charged with first-degree murder and child abuse; Scott was charged with three counts of child abuse and neglect.

Police say Carter staged a one-vehicle car crash Tuesday morning to try to cover up the real cause of Trenton's death.
