Lexington Park hails arrival of first owner

On a chilly, rainy day earlier this month, Air Force 1st Lt. Derrick Traverzo became the first homeowner to move into Lennar's Lexington Park neighborhood in the northwestern part of the valley.

Traverzo, who is stationed at Nellis Air Force Base after spending 61/2 months with a security detail in Iraq, plans to leave the Air Force in May and enter the civilian world. He is working on his masters degree in casino operations at UNLV.

Born into a military family, Traverzo grew up mostly in Alabama but also spent time in South Korea when his father was stationed there.

Traverzo began looking for a house in Las Vegas a few months ago.

"I saw the homes going up here at Lexington Park and I like this area. I like two-story homes, that's what I've always wanted," he said.

Traverzo selected the Los Altos floor plan, which offers four bedrooms, 21/2 baths and a two-car garage in 1,687 square feet. The first-floor living space is a great-room design that includes a dining room backed by bay windows. The kitchen provides a large bar counter with seating.

The upstairs master bedroom is accented by a bay window. The bath features an oval garden tub, separate shower, dual sinks and two closets.

Lexington Park homes are priced from the $200,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95, exit at Craig Road heading east, turn north on Jones Boulevard, and left on Sun Runner Avenue. For community information call 800-483-9421. For information about Lennar communities throughout the valley, visit lennar.com.
