Outdoor shows set for valley

Remember to drink lots of water at two outdoor concerts today.

Country perennial Clint Black has just released the first single in 18 years that he didn't write. "The Strong One" advances an album scheduled for release this fall that reunites him with producer James Stroud.

Tickets are $28.50-$54 for the 8 p.m. show at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road; call 547-5300.

Nelly Furtado probably will make adjustments to a Red Rock Resort stop that caps an arena tour. That might be a good thing, considering critics have rapped the "Get Loose" tour for copying the costume-changing pop diva format at the expense of the singer's earthy personality.

Tickets are $75 for the 9 p.m. show at 11011 W. Charleston Blvd.; call 547-5300.
