Blaze starts at MGM Mirage facility

A fire started Thursday night in an MGM Mirage office and warehouse facility near The Mirage.

Clark County firefighters were called about 8:30 p.m. to the facility, across Industrial Road from the rear of The Mirage.

The structure -- known as the MGM Mirage Events Center -- is office and warehouse space for an MGM Mirage events company that sets up for meetings, conventions and trade shows, said Alan Feldman, an MGM Mirage spokesman.

Feldman said that sprinklers in the building were activated and that the fire might have been extinguished before firefighters arrived.

What caused the fire and how much damage was done to the building and its contents were unknown, Feldman said.

No one was injured.
