Anderson’s six RBIs lift 51s past Sacramento

Marlon Anderson's two-out grand slam broke a fourth-inning tie and helped lift the 51s to an 8-3 win over the Sacramento River Cats in a Pacific Coast League game Saturday night in West Sacramento, Calif.

Anderson, on a rehabilitation assignment from the Los Angeles Dodgers, paced Las Vegas' 11-hit attack with a 3-for-5 performance and drove in six runs.

The River Cats (39-31) forged a 2-2 tie in the third inning on Jason Perry's two-run homer. He finished 2-for-4, and Daric Barton was 3-for-4 to lead Sacramento, which finished with 10 hits.

William Juarez (3-2) earned the win for the 51s (31-38) after giving up three runs on eight hits and one walk in six innings. The right-hander struck out six.

Dwayne Pollok picked up a save by working the final three innings and holding the River Cats to no runs on two hits.

Wilson Valdez and Luis Maza each had a double and a single for Las Vegas.

Dan Meyer (3-1) pitched the first five innings for Sacramento and took the loss.

The teams cap their five-game series with a 1:05 p.m. game today.
