Stewart Bell to hear inquest

Attorney Stewart Bell will serve as the hearing officer for a coroner's inquest scheduled for Friday in District Court.

County Coroner Ron Flud said the inquest into the death of 44-year-old Chuck Walthers will begin at 9 a.m. in Department 13.

Walthers was shot and killed by police Nov. 2 when he answered the door of his mobile home at 4800 E. Cheyenne Ave. with a gun in hand.

A coroner's jury will decide if the killing was justifiable or criminally negligent.
