1 dead in shooting Sunday night

A man was slain and another person was wounded in a shooting late Sunday night in the central valley, according to Las Vegas police, but investigators have few leads.

Officers were called about gunshots around 10:20 p.m. in the 4600 block of Twain Avenue, near the intersection at Decatur Boulevard, Metro said in a news release Monday.

When they arrived they found the man's body and someone else with wounds they did not considered life-threatening, Metro said. That person was taken to University Medical Center.

An initial investigation determined the pair were walking in an alley when a shooter, described by Metro only as possibly being a Hispanic man in his 40s, fired at them.

The shooter fled in an older model blue Chevrolet or Ford pickup. Metro did not announce a possible motive for the shooting.

The man who was killed will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office at a later time.
