19-year-old killed, teen injured in collision

A 19-year-old man was killed and a teenager injured in a Monday night crash. Las Vegas police said the collision happened about 11:25 p.m. on Hollywood Boulevard, south of Charleston Boulevard.

A 17-year-old driver lost control of a 2000 Dodge Neon while traveling south on Hollywood. The Neon veered into the north travel lanes and struck a 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe, police said.

The teen driver was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. The passenger was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Two teenagers in the Hyundai were treated for minor injuries at UMC.

The Clark County coroner's office will identify the victim.
