2 new cases of swine flu reported in Carson City

LAS VEGAS - Health officials say two people in Carson City have tested positive for the swine flu virus, bringing the number of cases in Nevada to seven.

A Carson City Health District official said Thursday the two newly reported cases of H1N1 Type A flu involve people under age 18 and that one is a school student in Carson City.

Health District spokeswoman Cortney Bloomer says both patients had a mild form of the illness and have recovered.

She says the school won't close.

Authorities have reported five previous cases in Nevada.

A mother and two young children in Reno and an 11-year-old schoolboy in North Las Vegas were reported to be recovering, while a 39-year-old Clark County woman was hospitalized.
