2-year-old boy hurt in fall from second-story window

A 2-year-old boy fell from a second-story window at a northeast valley apartment complex Monday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.

The boy suffered a possible broken leg in the fall and was taken to University Medical Center, department spokesman Jacinto Rivera said.

The incident happened in an apartment in the 2800 block of Bonanza Road, near Mojave Road. Police were trying to determine what caused the child to fall.

In an unrelated incident, a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl suffered serious injuries April 6 when they fell from a third-story balcony at a southwest valley apartment. The 3-year-old's mother, 37-year-old Nicole Taylor, was supposed to be watching the children, police said.

Taylor was arrested on two counts of felony child neglect with substantial bodily harm.
