2-year-old injured in fire in May dies

A 2-year-old boy who was burned in a fire in Golden Valley, Ariz., in the spring died Sept. 16 at the Shriners Children's Hospital in Sacramento, Calif., his mother, Kimberley Thomas, said Thursday.

The Mohave County sheriff's office determined that Erik Glotkowski's
5-year-old brother ignited the fire while playing with a lighter on May 16.

Erik's father pulled him from the burning mobile home, and the boy was airlifted to University Medical Center .

Thomas said her son underwent 19 surgeries, and he died when kidney failure caused other organs to shut down.
