20-year-old who died in scooter crash identified

The 20-year-old man who died after his scooter collided with pickup truck at Lake Mead Boulevard and D Street has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Justin Vanderbeke, of Las Vegas, was killed after his 2012 Zhenhau Zh motorized scooter, which was traveling east on Lake Mead Boulevard, hit the front passenger side of the 2002 Chevrolet pickup that was making a left turn from Lake Mead Boulevard. Vanderbeke was thrown from his scooter, police said.

Vanderbeke was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
