3 hurt in head-on crash in Carson City

CARSON CITY — Three people were hurt in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 50 in Carson City.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says the accident happened just before noon Thursday on the four-lane road just east of Flint Drive.

A preliminary investigation indicates a man driving a silver 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage was traveling west when his vehicle crossed the center turn lane into oncoming traffic.

The front of his vehicle struck a white 2010 Kia Soul head-on.

Troopers say a man and woman in the Kia suffered serious injuries and were flown to Renown Regional Medical Center.

The other driver was critically injured and also was flown to the Reno hospital.
