57-year-old shot, killed near UNLV

A man who was shot and killed near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas main campus was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Alvin Eugene Moore, 57, of Las Vegas was shot in an apartment complex about 8:10 p.m. in the 4300 block of Escondido Street, near Maryland Parkway and University Avenue, according to Las Vegas police.

Officers received calls of gunshots and a call for medical aid for a man with severe injuries at the Tammany Hall Apartments. When police arrived, Moore was dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.

Las Vegas police are investigating the case and no suspect has been arrested. Police are still searching for any involved parties.
