A Halloween scare for some casino execs

Even the people who recognize the name Tony Rezko and can link him to Barack Obama’s $1.6 million home and various bribery schemes that have earned him a federal conviction, probably have let it slip their minds that he faces additional charges right here in Nevada.

The higher-ups at Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Bally’s surely have not forgotten.

You see political king maker Rezko owes them $800,000. But before Clark County District Attorney David Roger can take the charges forward Rezko must stand trial on federal accusations that he swindled $10 million from General Electric Capital Corp. during the sale of Papa John's Pizza stores in Chicago and Milwaukee.

"We have to wait until the federal authorities are finished with their prosecution of him before extraditing him back to Nevada," Roger said earlier this month in a Review-Journal story.

Then on Halloween a Wall Street Journal editorial proffered a frightening thought for the casino execs. What if President Obama pardons Rezko?
