Allegiant posts passenger count increase in February
Las Vegas-based Allegiant air managed to increase passenger traffic in February, an impressive feat considering it was one of the worst months in memory for the overall tourism and hospitality airlines.
Allegiant reported Tuesday that systemwide scheduled traffic jumped 10.9 percent to 361,778 in February when compared to the same period a year ago.
The airline also managed to increase its load factor, the percentage of full seats on a given flight, 3.8 points to 90.2 percent.
Allegiant specializes in flying customers on noncompetitive routes from small towns to vacation destinations such as Las Vegas, Florida and Arizona.
