A man was shot and killed during an early morning confrontation between two groups Friday, Las Vegas police said.
The gunfire erupted about 2:30 a.m. on the 900 block of Karen Avenue, near Maryland Parkway, after two carloads of people had an altercation, officer Bill Cassell said.
Jaime Calderon, 29, of North Las Vegas, was killed.
Detectives were looking into whether the shooting was gang-related, Cassell said.
“It really streamlines processes in the Apex Industrial Area in terms of utilities, easements, to allow development to really accelerate out there,” North Las Vegas Councilman Scott Black said.
It was 98 degrees inside of the woman’s apartment, according to a coroner’s investigation referenced in the lawsuit.
