Applicants for court sought

Clark County is accepting applications for two vacancies in Las Vegas Justice Court.

The positions were made vacant earlier this year when Justices of the Peace Douglas Smith and Abbi Silver were elected to District Court seats.

Applicants must have at least five years' experience working as an attorney.

An eight-member county judicial selection committee will review the applications and recommend six attorneys for the positions.

The county commissioners then will appoint two from the list to serve until January 2011. Then the positions will be filled by the candidates who won the seats in the 2010 election.

Applications are available at the county manager's office or www.accessclarkcounty.com.

They must be submitted by Friday to the county manager's office, on the sixth floor of the County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89155.
