Arizona man’s survival after fall called miracle

The survival of a northwest Arizona resident who fell down a cliff and spent more than four days in wet and freezing conditions before being rescued Tuesday is nothing short of a miracle, said Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District Battalion Chief Jason Scott.

Scott said Merideth Isom, 66, intended to give his dogs some treats Friday evening. He stepped off a steep cliff on his property about 10 miles north of Kingman. Scott said Isom suffered cuts and bruises and a back injury during his 150-foot tumble down the cliff.

Neighbors conducting a welfare check found Isom and called rescuers Tuesday afternoon.

Isom, who had been without food, water and shelter, was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
