Arizona officials investigating fatal hit and run

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A fatal hit-and-run traffic accident is under investigation in northwest Arizona.

The Department of Public Safety is trying to identify and locate the vehicle and driver involved in the incident Tuesday a mile east of Kingman.

Catherine Querta, 38, of Peach Springs suffered fatal injuries when she was struck on U.S. Route 66 just after 7 p.m., officials said.

Investigators are not certain where she was positioned when struck by an eastbound vehicle, which fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1988 to 1993 GMC pickup or Yukon, red with possible gray primer.
