Arrests made after child found in car

Two parents were arrested Saturday after leaving a child in a car in a Wal-Mart parking lot in the 5100 block of Boulder Highway, near Nellis Boulevard, Las Vegas police said.

A passer-by noticed the child in the vehicle about 5:30 p.m., said Lt. Steve Herpolsheimer. The good Samaritan took the child out of the car and called police.

Police soon found the parents and placed them under arrest. Their names were not immediately released.

The child was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center to be checked out, Herpolsheimer said.

The abuse and neglect detail was investigating the case.
