Authorities investigating cause of fatal plane crash

A man and woman are dead and the White Pine County sheriff and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of a small plane crash Saturday in a rugged and remote area in eastern Nevada.
Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy said Monday that medical examiners in his office are handling the bodies of a husband and wife who died in the crash about 10 a.m. about 19 miles southeast of Ely. Their names and hometown weren't immediately made public.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the single-engine Piper PA31 aircraft was flying from Mesa, Ariz., to the Portland-Troutdale Airport in Oregon when it crashed..
