Authorities seek help in slaying of Kingman man

A slaying Monday night just outside Kingman, Ariz., is under investigation by the Mohave County sheriff's office. The agency is withholding initial details but asking the public for help in solving the crime.

Chief Sheriff's Deputy Jim McCabe said the girlfriend of the victim got a ride from the homicide scene into Kingman, where she called 911 shortly after 9 p.m. She led authorities to the victim at a site off Old Trails Road, near the second Black Bridge.

McCabe said it appeared that the man, 37-year-old Christopher J. Gillespie of Kingman, died of a gunshot wound.
