‘Bachelorette Party’ scores big in debut
October 20, 2011 - 1:02 am
The Oxygen Channel's "Bachelorette Party: Las Vegas" is off to a champagne-popping start.
The Palms might have another "Real World" success on its hands.
Tuesday's debut episode of the reality show, which was filmed at the Palms last November, scored the network's best ratings for a freshman docu-series premiere, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Total viewers numbered 814,000, or double what Paris Hilton's not-so-hot "The World According to Paris" delivered on Oxygen in June.
Nielsen said the show had 575,000 viewers (18-48 age group) and 443,000 (females ages 18-49). The show features Palms executive Jon Gray and VIP hosts Elliot Wronski and Jason "JRoc" Craig.
"They (Oxygen) called this morning, and they were really excited, really pumped," Gray said.

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman could learn a lot from Republican media strategist Frank Luntz.
Back in April, Friedman pitched a fit at a local daily photographer who had been allotted 30 minutes to shoot his speech at UNLV's Ham Hall.
Instead of being a pill, Luntz scored points Wednesday when confronted with a similar situation while addressing a GOP leadership conference at The Venetian.
After spotting R-J photographer Jeff Scheid below the stage, the portly Luntz playfully complained the angle made him look fat.
"Here, take this angle," said Luntz, making himself the butt of the joke by turning his backside to Scheid.
Well played, sir.
