Be alert: Rain causing wrecks on morning commute

Tiny droplets of gloomy precipitation continue to descend from above, causing the usual mayhem for Las Vegas drivers.

The rain did move in earlier than many expected, though, which has made for a messy Friday commute due to high number of collisions reported across the valley.

The National Weather Service expects the rain to taper off toward Friday evening, with scattered showers continuing through the night and early morning.

The winds are expected strengthen Saturday afternoon, with temperatures climbing back into the low 60s.

By Sunday, the winds as well as the clouds should begin to leave the valley, and temperatures will again rise in the mid-to-high 60s.

The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort is reported six inches of new snow as of 9 a.m. Friday and more was expected through the day, according to NWS.
