Beat Coffeehouse popular day, night

The Beat Coffeehouse on the corner of Sixth and Fremont streets has become the downtown board room and meeting spot for many area businesses and professionals. According to Michael and Jennifer Cornthwaite, managing partners of The Beat and of adjoining Emergency Arts, it's been fun to watch The Beat grow in popularity since it opened last year.

"I envisioned The Beat as a warm and welcoming place," Jennifer Cornthwaite said. "It's gratifying to see that everyone -- attorneys, bankers, business owners, and downtown dwellers -- all feel comfortable here."

After business hours, The Beat is transformed into a social hot spot offering beer, wine and live music.

"It's all about community," said Jennifer Cornthwaite.

She and Michael are among the original downtown pioneers and investors.

Michael Cornthwaite also owns the highly popular and successful Downtown Cocktail Room on Las Vegas Boulevard, just around the corner from The Beat.
