WASHINGTON -- The father of Shelley Berkley is home after heart surgery last month and doctors expect a "full recovery," the Las Vegas congresswoman said Wednesday.
George Levine, 86, had surgery at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas after what was described as a "mild heart attack" on Jan. 16. He was released after a recovery period at a rehabilitation facility.
"He is home and out of rehab," Berkley said. "It is going slowly. He is an 86-year-old man recovering from a heart attack and open-heart surgery, but the doctors say he will make a full recovery and be back to work after two months. He is looking forward to going back to work."
Levine was a longtime maitre d' at the Sands hotel-casino during and after the Frank Sinatra era, retiring when the resort closed in 1996. He now serves as maitre d' at a Rat Pack tribute show at the Rio, according to Berkley's office.
