BMX star has long, hard road ahead
February 14, 2011 - 2:00 am
Las Vegas BMX legend TJ Lavin is back at work, taking some big public steps on his road to recovery.
He's currently out of the country at an undisclosed location shooting his first "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" for MTV since a crash in October left him with critical head injuries.
On April 11, he'll host the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraiser at South Shore Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas.
One of his many goals, said his mother, Bobbi Lavin, is to play golf at the fundraiser.
He has come a long way since the crash. Lavin, 34, is driving again and was allowed to fly for the first time since the crash.
"Most everything is coming back," his mother said. "He's getting there, but it's not going to be an easy road."
THE SCENE AND HEARD
