Boat hits, kills inner tube rider

Police are seeking the operator of a boat that struck and killed a man on an inner tube Saturday afternoon on the California side of Lake Havasu.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Sgt. Tim Smith said 30-year-old Eric Norris, of Huntington Beach, Calif., was fatally injured when he was struck by the propeller of a V-hull power boat.

Norris had fallen off his inner tube while being pulled by another boat and was waiting for the boat to return when he was struck.

Smith said the red boat with white striping, operated by a man with a female passenger, left the scene and headed south toward Chalk Cliffs.
