Boy stabbed at Chaparral High School
A freshman boy was stabbed three times by another student Thursday in the lunchroom of Chaparral High School, according to Lt. Ken Young of the Clark County School District school police.
The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Young said.
The suspect, also a freshman boy, was taken into custody by Las Vegas police, who are investigating the case at the request of school police. The incident took place shortly after noon.
Information on possible charges faced by the suspect was not immediately available, Las Vegas police said. Police did not disclose names because the boys are minors.
Because of the incident, the east region school at 3850 Annie Oakley Drive were to make counselors available today to any students requesting their services, a district spokesman said.
