Brooks might get surprising send-off
November 17, 2012 - 2:31 am
Garth Brooks may be in for a surprise tonight during the finale of his three-year run at Wynn Las Vegas.
His wife, Trisha Yearwood, who often joins him onstage during his one-man show, is hinting that she has got something up her sleeve.
"Maybe I'll just go out dressed as Cher or something," she told ABC Radio News.
"I should do that. I should go out dressed as Barbra Streisand. I don't know. I should do something."
She said the stay in Las Vegas helped bring out Brooks' humorous side.
"His sense of humor is great, and a lot of people don't know that about him, that he's a goofball, and I think the Vegas show really allowed him to really show a lot of people another side to him."
She added, "I hope he'll take what he's done in Vegas and somehow incorporate that into the big show."
That reference to "the big show" has some Garth watchers interpreting her comment as one of the reasons why Brooks is walking away from the last two years of his five-year deal with Steve Wynn.
Brooks, 50, is reportedly working on a one-man show that is scheduled to be filmed next summer.
When he announced his retirement in October 2000, he said he would remain on the sidelines until his youngest daughter turned 18.
Wynn talked him out of retirement in 2009 by gifting the country superstar a private jet as part of the deal, allowing him attend his daughters' events and get to his Wynn shows on time.
His daughters are now 20, 18 and 16.
