Two brothers accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art were given probation Tuesday.
District Judge Jackie Glass sentenced Brian Cantor and Neil Cantor to 12 to 30 months but suspended the sentences. Both men pleaded guilty to attempted embezzlement.
Brian Cantor was hired by the company that managed the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art to head the retail operation. Neil Cantor was hired to assist in the gallery's business and financial operations.
Authorities said the two men used the company's credit card without permission to buy clothing, jewelry and toys, and to finance vacations.
Brian Cantor paid more than $300,000 in restitution while Neil Cantor paid more than $29,000 in restitution.
Both men also are being sued civilly by Paperball, the company that managed the gallery.
