Bush to miss Reno appearance

CARSON CITY -- President Bush will not make a planned Friday appearance in Reno because he needs to stay in Washington, D.C., to make sure Congress approves a Wall Street bailout bill, a spokesman said Tuesday.

Vice President Dick Cheney will make the 10:45 a.m. address in the Silver Legacy hotel-casino to the White House Conference on North American Wildlife Policy.

The two-day conference features speakers discussing ways to improve hunting opportunities and manage game.
