Car strikes three pedestrians, including infant, in crosswalk

Las Vegas police are investigating a serious accident Tuesday morning where three people, one an infant, were hit by a car.

Police spokesman Marcus Martin said the accident happened about 7:50 a.m. in the intersection of Colorado Avenue and Lamont Street, near Charleston and Nellis boulevards.

Early reports indicate a 2004 Chevrolet Beretta struck the pedestrians in the crosswalk. The infant, who was being pushed in a stroller, has a broken leg, Martin said.

All three victims were transported to University Medical Center. Their conditions were unknown.

It's unknown whether the driver of the Beretta ran a red light or will face charges in the accident.
