FREE BEREAVEMENT CAMP PLANNED
AT MOUNT CHARLESTON LODGE

Camp Solari, a weekend bereavement camp sponsored by the Solari Hospice Foundation, plans to offer children ages 6 to 17 and their surviving caregivers a free opportunity to learn healthy coping strategies and honor the memories of their loved ones.

The next camp is set for May 3-5 at the Mount Charleston Lodge, 5375 Kyle Canyon Road. Applications must be completed by March 11 to be considered for the spring camp. Planned activities include art, music, talk therapy, drumming, dancing and nature walks.

NEVADA PRINCESS, MRS. NEVADA-AMERICA PAGEANTS SET FOR SUNDAY AT SUNCOAST

The Nevada Princess Pageant and the Mrs. Nevada-America Pageant are planned for Sunday at the Suncoast Showroom, 9090 Alta Drive.

The Nevada Princess Pageant is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will include divisions of Little Miss (ages 4 to 6); Young Miss (7 to 9); Pre-Teen (10 to 12); and Teen (13 to 16).

In each division, entrants will compete in the categories of evening gown, on-stage introduction and an interview with the judges.

Eight of Nevada’s most accomplished married women will compete for the 2013 Mrs. Nevada-America crown, starting at 7 p.m. Contestants will be judged in the categories of evening gown, swimsuit, overall beauty and a four-minute interview with the judges.

The newly crowned Mrs. Nevada-America will compete in this year’s Mrs. America Pageant, scheduled at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Ariz., Aug. 28.

Tickets for the Nevada Princess Pageant start at $20. Tickets for the Mrs. Nevada-America Pageant start at $25. Tickets can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming box office, by calling 702-636-7075 or by visiting suncoastcasino.com.

NOMINATIONS SOUGHT
FOR EXCEPTIONAL SENIOR VOLUNTEERS

Home Instead Senior Care is searching for Nevada’s outstanding senior volunteers. The Salute to Senior Service program recognizes senior volunteers for the contributions they make in the community.

Nominations are to be accepted through March 31, and the winner in each state will receive $500, while the national winner will receive $5,000 to donate to the winners’ charities of choice. Online voting for the national candidates is set for April 15 to 30, and a panel of senior care experts will pick the national honoree.
