CES: Last Gadget Standing winners
January 8, 2011 - 7:37 pm
Some people are calling this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show the “Tablet Electronics Show.” So, fittingly, a gadget that features a pair of touch-screen tablet computers captured top honors Saturday in the 10th Annual Last Gadget Standing competition.
After 10 finalists gave four-minute presentations about their gadgets, a live audience chose the Iconia, by Acer, as its favorite. The Iconia looks like a laptop computer when closed, but when the unit is opened, touch-screens are all you see. The lower screen can serve as a keypad, or as a second display.
Other crowd favorites were the Looxcie (pronounced “look-see”) Wearable Bluetooth Camcorder and the Sifteo Cubes, which bring interactivity to toys. The cubes are programmable blocks that play an array of games.
