Cities’ offices close Friday — in some cases, rest of the year
Forget the last-minute shopping. If you have business with the city, get it done today -- or wait till next year.
All municipal offices will be off Friday: It's the Christmas holiday in Las Vegas and a regular day off in Henderson and North Las Vegas, where city offices are open four days a week.
To cut costs in tight budget times, all three cities are closed next week with municipal offices reopening Jan. 3.
Police, fire and other emergency services will be open as usual.
And some city services will be open next week, but it's a mixed bag.
Bookworms are out of luck in North Las Vegas, which is closing its libraries, but golfers should be OK. The municipal course will be open as usual, even on Christmas, but the club at Aliante will be closed Saturday.
