Clark County coroner IDs second man killed in moped hit-and-run crash

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the second man killed in a Tuesday hit-and-run crash in the south Las Vegas Valley.

Nicholas Monday, 20, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center after a Ford F-150 pickup collided with the moped he was riding with another man near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard South and Windmill Lane. The moped was stopped at a red light when the truck crashed into it.

Monday died of multiple injuries from the crash, and the coroner ruled his death an accident.

Phillip Le Nguyen, 21, of Las Vegas, died at the scene.

The truck driver fled the scene and police found the abandoned vehicle later with the moped stuck beneath it. Police have not found the driver of the truck.
