Clark County revises parking rules for residential streets

Residents of unincorporated areas of Clark County can no longer skirt time limits for parking disabled vehicles on residential streets by rolling them a foot or two.

Those are among the new parking rules that county commissioners approved Tuesday, partly to mirror the city of Las Vegas rules.

There was no discussion.

Under the code changes, a person can't roll a derelict vehicle a short distance to beat the 72-hour time limit for parking on a residential street. The idled vehicle still can be cited and towed.

The new rules also forbid parking boats, commercial vehicles, trailers and mobile billboards on neighborhood streets.

Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani originally suggested giving the county authority to tow vehicles in extreme disrepair from driveways, but withdrew the proposal.
