Communication vehicle to help in crisis situations
Sen. Harry Reid and Washoe County Sheriff Michael Haley are rolling out a special communications vehicle that will enable authorities to set up a mobile command center during a disaster.
The Critical Incident Response Vehicle was scheduled to be unveiled in Reno.
It will carry vital communications equipment and intelligence-gathering staff and is the first of its kind in Nevada.
Haley said it is critical that officials of different agencies can communicate with each other during a crisis situation.
Reid said the money for the vehicle comes from the U.S. Department of Justice.
