Conboy named investigations chief

CARSON CITY -- Outgoing public safety director Jerry Hafen has named Elizabeth Conboy as chief of the Nevada Investigation Division.

Conboy began working for the state in 1989 as an investigator with the Gaming Control Board, and in 1994 joined the Department of Public Safety in Las Vegas. She's also worked in the Division of Parole and Probation.

Conboy received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's in public administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. She's also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
