Coroner identifies slain security guard

The security guard gunned down at a Las Vegas community center late Sunday has been identified as 54-year-old James Gruey of Las Vegas.

Gruey was patrolling the Pearson Community Center, 1625 W. Carey Ave., near Comstock Drive, when three men shot him multiple times and fled about 11:30 p.m., witnesses told Las Vegas police.

No one has been arrested in the case. Detectives are still trying to determine a motive.
