Coroner identifies three who died in morning accident

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the three people who died early Friday morning in a crash at the southern interchange of Interstate 15 and the Las Vegas Beltway.

Nicholas Scheafer, 19, of Las Vegas and Tiffanee Anderson, 19, and Robert Inouye, 23, both of North Las Vegas, died at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The accident happened about 2:10 a.m. when the eastbound red Ford Mustang drove past road-closed signs and barricades onto the northbound I-15 ramp, which was closed for construction, the Highway Patrol said.

The car ran into five steel beams that were waiting to be installed, the patrol said.

The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed upon impact, and investigators did not know whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, trooper Chelita Rojas said.
