County Commission names chairman, vice chairman

Commissioner Steve Sisolak was voted chairman of the Board of Commissoiners on Monday. Commissioner Larry Brown was made vice chairman.

The board chairman sits in the center and manages the meetings, determining who speaks and for how long. The vice chairman fills in for the chairman when that person is absent.

Commissioners Tom Collins and Lawrence Weekly were the only commissioners who voted against Sisolak and Brown for the two-year positions.

Sisolak replaces Commissioner Susan Brager. Brown replaces Sisolak as vice-chairman.

Also Monday, commissioners Sisolak, Brown, Collins and Weekly were sworn in after easily winning re-election in November.
