County offers Summer Day Camp programs

Clark County Parks and Recreation Department has designed and organized Summer Day Camp programs to keep children safe and active this summer season.

The department offers day camp activities and events at several locations: Paradise Recreation Center, Whitney Recreation Center, Cambridge Recreation Center, Parkdale Community Center, Walnut Community Center, Bob Price Recreation Center, Hollywood Recreation Center, Winchester Cultural Center, Helen Meyer Community Center and Desert Breeze Community Center.

The fees for Summer Day Camp are $15 per day or $70 per week. The program will run from June 11 through Aug. 24. Operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., except for Winchester Cultural Center Day Camp, which operates Tuesday through Friday. Contact the Winchester Cultural Center directly for further information.

Due to the high demand for day camp services, Clark County Parks and Recreation has three additional locations with the Clark County School District: Silvestri, Sawyer and Faiss middle schools. A fourth location is pending. The camps at the four school district locations will begin June 11 and end Aug. 17. Registration is available now.

Registration for the Clark County School District Summer Day Camp locations will be conducted by mail until May 31. Registration forms for Summer Day Camp at the school district locations will be available at Safekey sites or at the Safekey administration office, 2601 E. Sunset Road.

Summer Day Camp participation is for children 6 to 12 years old.
