Danny Gans’ home sells for $9 million
T he sprawling replica of a French chateau formerly owned by Las Vegas headliner Danny Gans has been sold for $9 million.
Gans, who died suddenly last year from an accidental painkiller overdose, had the 9,400-square foot home built in the Roma Hills development on six custom home sites on 2½ acres.
The 10-year-old property included a 3,000-square-foot guest house atop a basement garage that housed Gans' exotic car collection of 20 vehicles.
Half of his collection was sold for $500,000 at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction last month at Mandalay Bay.
Family members, who attended the auction, kept the remaining cars.
The sale was one of the largest of the year in the Las Vegas area, according to Zar Zanganeh of Luxe Estates Collection.
Zanganeh and his co-listing partner, Carolyn Mullany of Coldwell Banker Premier Reality, also teamed up on the sale of a Las Vegas mansion once rented by singer Michael Jackson on South Monte Cristo Way.
Gans' family moved out of their house shortly after his death on May 1, 2009, and moved to California.
A California couple purchased the property, which includes a pool, tennis courts, and batting cages. Gans, a former professional baseball player before a career-ending injury led to his career as a vocal impressionist, played Deke in the movie "Bull Durham."

KSNV-TV, Channel 3 entertainment reporter Alicia Jacobs found herself in an awkward spot on Friday while reporting on the legal matters of her boyfriend, Vince Neil of Motley Crüe. Neil had a cease-and-desist order issued this week against Danny Koker, Neil's partner in Dr. Feelgood's Rock Bar & Grill at West Sahara and Rainbow. Jacobs, in a tweet posted on her Twitter site, said Neil is no longer associated with the club, after "a very lowdown move" by his partners, and plans to open a new one. ...
The Lon Bronson All-Star Band celebrates its 20th anniversary Nov. 11 at the Ovation Showroom at Green Valley Ranch. The event is free and open to the public. ...
Las Vegas singer/songwriter Veronica Lopez will be featured at a Nov. 13 tribute to Michael Jackson. Lopez will perform her bilingual tribute to Michael Jackson at the Jackson Family Foundation concert. Lopez composed the title song for the event, "Legacy of the Legend," in her own Latin style, with lyrics in English and Spanish, at the request of the foundation.

That camera crew recently following cage fighting legend Randy Couture around the Palms and the Gold & Silver Pawn shop -- home of the "Pawn Stars" -- was shooting scenes for the MMA Awards show Dec. 1 at the Palms. Among the presenters: actor Eric Balfour, "Jackass 3D" star Steve-O and comedian Bobby Lee.
