The Utah County attorney's office has filed a criminal complaint against Gary Guymon, a high profile defense attorney in Las Vegas.
The office charged Guymon on April 6 with one count of misdemeanor theft. Authorities said Guymon, a deputy public defender, stole a necklace off a mannequin at the Sundance Resort in Utah on March 24.
Surveillance footage taken of the incident shows a man, identified by Utah authorities as Guymon, walking into the gift shop at the Sundance Resort and, without hesitating, grabbing a necklace from the mannequin.
Guymon, 46, is a former Chief Deputy District Attorney who prosecuted many high profile cases in Nevada, including Margaret Rudin, convicted of killing her millionaire husband, Ron.
He left the district attorney's office after his name surfaced in connection with the public corruption scandal involving the county commissioners and Michael Galardi.
He is tentatively scheduled to appear in court in Utah in July.
