Dust advisory issued for Las Vegas Valley

The Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management has issued a dust advisory for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon due to expected high winds.

It is sending notices to construction sites in the Las Vegas Valley and outlying areas encouraging precautions to prevent blowing dust.

Airborne dust aggravates respiratory diseases such as bronchitis and asthma.

Unhealthy levels of dust were not occurring as of Monday morning.

Officials are monitoring conditions and will update the forecast as necessary.
