Early voting: 561,625 cast early ballots statewide

A whopping 47 percent of Nevada voters voted early over the past two weeks, according to the secretary of state's office.

When early voting ended Friday, 561,625 Nevadans had taken advantage of the popular program, out of 1.2 million active registered voters statewide.

Adding absentee votes to that total, more than half of the state's electorate has already cast ballots three days before Election Day.

Turnout in Clark County was up to 48 percent with nearly 392,000 early votes.

Adding the 46,000 absentee ballots received to that total, 53 percent of Clark voters have done their civic duty.

In 2004, Clark turnout was 80 percent overall.
